Trev, Jenn Reyder and Taryn have been dealt all the wrong cards this year already and as family and friends of them it would be nice to take a little pressure off to help them during this difficult journey. For those who have not heard, Trev was diagnosed with an aggressive type of Throat Cancer this past February. The cancerous cells were found when the doctors removed a portion of his lymph node in his neck that was swollen. They then went on to remove this right tonsil as it was abnormally large. The doctors are certain this is where the tumor started. This is called Squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil and it is the most commonly diagnosed head and neck cancer. As there are still cancer cells present and is it unknown if it has spread beyond the lymph node he will have to undergo serious treatments over the next 6 weeks. He has an amazing group of Doctors caring for him at the Allan Blair Cancer Care Centre in Regina and they are confident this can be beat! He will have to stay in Regina for the course of his treatments as he has to have Radiation 5 days a week along with Chemo once a week. This means he will not be able to work to provide for his family and will be off until the end of June possibly even longer. He has disability coverage through work however it does not kick in for weeks so this is going to take a toll on all of them.
