“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” Confucius

Growing up in San Francisco my fondest memories were going for treats with my dad. Marzipan figurines, glossy fruit tarts filled with decadent custard, raspberry macarons, chocolate eclairs, and for my birthday every year a lemon poppy seed cake. As a young adult I found solace and pride in teaching myself how to bake, which lead to me pursuing a culinary career. I attended University of Hawaii Maui College learned to cook, loved it, but I am a baker through and through. For many years now I have been dreaming of having my own bakery. Since I was 19 I had a drawing and game plan of what I wanted, and always said it would be an homage to my late father.

I believe in using local ingredients, products, and helping other small business's.

I feel that, that is what makes bakeries across the world stand out from one another, for example having lived in Hawaii I know you can find unique Calamansi donuts and the most enchanting yuzu tarts, but I'm only going to find those there. During the fall we went and hand picked apples at a local apple farm for our apple maple scones and are currently looking for other farms to supply seasonal fruits. I recently started relationships with two local companies, one for chocolate (bean to bar) and coffee.

I have more motivation now then ever.

I am now mommy to the most wonderful little boy and my husband is my rock. He has pushed me to pursue my dreams. We moved across country from California to North Carolina in July 2016 right after our wedding, and before our little boy was born. Its just us three and the friends we have made since moving here.

Before and during my maternity leave from my retail job I started baking more. I would bring in treats to try and people started asking how much, and if I could do this or that. Next thing I knew we had applied for our business license and gotten my kitchen approved for production. Not only could I taste it, or was it in arms reach, it had happened I was pinching myself in disbelief that it's actually happening.

Now my next endeavor in making my dream come true was to become a vendor at a local farmers market!

As of April 15th I will be one at the Matthews Farmers Market!!

This is where you lovely people come in. Currently I am making the magic happen in a tiny apartment kitchen that lacks counter space, and that is an understatement. With the amount of product I plan on making for the market every saturday I need to extend my counter space with a workbench as well as some other equipment, ingredients to make all the goodies, packaging, and most importantly a table and tent. Within a year I would like to open a brick and mortar so I am investing in commercial grade equipment. With your help I will be able to bring quality, delicious, and seasonal goodies every week to the market. This will also help with exposure of the bakery for custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and cookies.

I am so excited to start this new chapter in life and continue to pursue my dream.
