On Thursday, July 30th, was Vicki's birthday.  Every year, her husband Russ would make surprise plans for them to celebrate. Instead of celebrating, Vicki and her children received the news that no wife or mother ever wants to hear. I’m sorry Mrs. McClain, your husband was killed in an accident today.

Vicki and Russ grew up in Cloverdale and were high school sweethearts. Vicki is the daughter of retired school teacher, Sandra Whiting. She cares for both of her parents, who are very ill, and with Russ having no life insurance she could use a little help from all of us. Their youngest daughter, Cali, is 13 and just starting 8th grade and their oldest, Rusty, now 23 lives in Indy. Funeral arrangements for Russ are: visitation Friday Aug 7 4pm-8pm Service Aug 8 at 10am. Services to be held at Conkle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cloverdale Cemetery.

Vicki is very proud and not asking for help, as a friend, we do not want to see her stress over funeral expenses. Rather, focus on her children and the care of her parents and try to start the healing process for herself. Please donate whatever you can.
