Alicia's Summer Trip To New York!!!

Last night was the CCSD Voice Art competition, where one of Alicia' s pieces was selected.This piece was 1 out of a pool of 700. 35 pieces made up an  amazing gallery and Alicia was awarded
an honorable mention.  I was already filled with such pride and joy of my amazing daughter , then came the end of the ceremony. This is where they announced who had won a  scholarship to attend SVA summer program (top Art School in the country). Tears f joy came when Alicia's name was called.  Our family have always been very strong supporters of Alicia's work, but to see so many prestigious members of the art community supporting her and rooting her on,  was something so amazing!! I'm so proud of her and always knew she could achieve something like this!
The scholarship pays for her tuition, but we still have to pay for her room and board, meals, and flight.
This is where you all come in, we need to raise  $2500.00 to cover these costs. This program is from July 10 - July 28. Here is a link to the program it self if any of you would like to further read up on it.

Hearing members of the art community  talking to Alicia, has opened our eyes to the amazing opportunities that are a part if Alicia's future. Yes, this is going to be alot of work but it will not only help her art grow, it will allow Alicia herself to grow and mature. This is an opportunity we never thought she would get, being able to work with other artists and being where the active art scene is right now. She was told she  will work with some of the top artists in the country during her time there!!
