Dear Family and Friends,
At around 9:30PM, JULY 23rd 2015, a trooper located a pick up truck, previously observed to have been recklessly traveling at a high rate of speed of over 100mph on Highway 97 near milepost 176 (south of La Pine in Klamath County). While the trooper was attempting to overtake the truck, it crashed head-on with a northbound 2000 Honda Accord. The truck driver, a 72 year old Florida man, was pronounced deceased on scene. The operator of the Honda, CHAMREUN M. NEWTON, of La Pine, OR was provided first aid by the trooper until medics arrived. She was then subsequently taken by air ambulance to St Charles Hospital in Bend, OR where she now remains with serious injuries including: left shattered femur, left rib fracture, right T-4 laminar fracture, pelvic fracture, spleen rupture, tearing of the bowel tissue, bruised lungs, left arm multiple fractures, shattered hips and a fractured neck. She has undergone 7 surgeries where metal rods were surgically placed down her hip/leg and metal plates placed in her arm.

The road to recovery will be very long and very hard. Her husband Corey Newton (a US ARMY VETERAN), will have to take a minumum 3 months of family leave so he can assist his wife as she learns to use her arms and legs, and hopefully until she can walk again.
Any help that can be provided for the family through this time of hardship will be much appreciated. GOD BLESS and Please Keep the Newton’s in your PRAYERS.

Dear Family and Friends,
Some of you have asked me what can you do? How can you help? Where can you send those flowers? So I started this gofundme account. Because this is how you can help.
I don't know anyone who is more deserving of this PAYITFORWARD moment then my sister. Over the past couple of years, every time she saw a gofundme page, a indiegogo page, a kickstarter page, or any page started by one of her friends, or even by strangers, whose cause she found admirable, or in need, Chamreun has always with a generous heart (and sometimes near empty wallet) donated. She works two jobs and has volunteered as a track coach at Gilchrist High School, and is a committee member at Cambodia Town Film Festival.
Because I want her husband to be able to stay with her and assist her in her coming struggles, which will be one that I imagine will take a lot of strength, love and bravery, and because a financial burden should be the least of her concerns right now, this page was created. Feeling very grateful to God, Buddha, and the Universe who has allowed me to keep my sister.
Thank you for all of your love!
Sincerely,
