Hope and Healing for Travis’s Kidney Transplant

In January of 2020, Travis was diagnosed with Stage 4 renal failure. The last six and a half years have been incredibly challenging for the family — mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially.

Throughout this difficult journey, Travis continued working full time for the state while also maintaining a second night job to help make up for the income lost due to the hours required for dialysis treatments. Despite his illness, he was determined to make sure his family never went without. Because of his dedication, along with Janelle’s photography business, we have been able to maintain as much normalcy as possible for our family.

It’s impossible to fully express how difficult this has been for Travis. He pushed through extreme exhaustion, chronic illness, multiple hospitalizations, and several serious, life-threatening health complications over the years — all while continuing to provide for his wife and children.

Janelle even attempted to donate her kidney and went through the entire process of becoming a living donor. Janelle was approved but unfortunately, she was not a match for Travis.

Then, on May 7, 2026, after nearly six long years of dialysis, uncertainty, and waiting, we finally received the call: a kidney was available for Travis.

This moment is filled with overwhelming gratitude and hope, while also carrying deep sadness, knowing that another family experienced an unimaginable loss. Because of that selfless gift, Travis has been given a second chance at life — a chance to continue being a husband to Janelle and a father to Tristan and Natalia.

Over the next several weeks, Travis will be recovering from transplant surgery and will be unable to work. Due to the amount of time dialysis required over the years, most of his PTO and sick time has already been exhausted. He also will not be able to continue working his second job during recovery.

We are humbly asking for any support or donations that anyone may be willing to give. Our greatest hope is to relieve as much financial stress as possible so Travis can focus fully on healing and recovery. After such a long and difficult road, we want to give this transplant the very best chance to succeed without the added burden of financial uncertainty weighing on our family.

Every prayer, share, donation, and kind word means more to us than we can express. Thank you for standing beside our family during this journey.
