Baby Dale's Medical & More
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sasha and I live in what feels like the land of stray cats. Baby Dale is one of those cats. Dale was found sitting in the middle of the alley behind my house one late night in July. He wasn't using his rear legs- they just kind of flopped. He had a terrible upper respiratory infection as well (soooo much better but still some residual sneezing and runny eyes even now).
Dale has been seen by my rDVM, a neurologist, and a holistic veterinarian.. Initially my rDVM suspected FIP, and while not officially ruled out by MRI/spinal tap, it's more likely trauma that is causing his issues. His right rear leg has a ruptured tendon that is causing hyperflexion (may require surgical repair in the future), and his left rear leg is hyperextended (will require amputation in the future).
He is also urine & fecal incontinent. Big sigh.
I don't know that it's in the cards for Dale to be with my family long term (several factors), but he will be here until the perfect forever family is found.
I'm looking to raise funds to continue providing him with the best care possible to help him live his best life. He's the most joyful little fellow that wants to befriend all my dogs and cats and loves his human friends as well. I wasn't financially prepared to take in a "broken" kitten and have been fortunate to have some good people chip in some for his care already. So much thanks in advance for anyone else wanting to also help provide for this little one. All funds will be used for veterinary care, food (he's got a great appetite & eats only canned, eek), potty pads (so many potty pads oh my gosh ... my washer is out of commission so reusable pads haven't been utilized at this time.
This is weird for me to put out into the world. Thank you for reading.
All veterinary summaries can be provided upon inquiring.
Oh, and I do try to TNR as many cats as I can but that takes money as well (and appointments aren't easy to come by near me); grateful for a new TNR group in my neighborhood helping to keep the cat population down!
