Six years ago, my mother (Patrica Rice) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Since her diagnosis, she gradually lost the ability to live independently and take part in the activities that once brought her joy. In the fall of 2023, she experienced many falls and hospital trips. Because of this, we ultimately made the decision for her to be placed in a nursing facility. Since then, she rapidly declined and could no longer move her body without assistance. Leading up to her passing on July 28th, 2025 she was unable to eat or drink and lost more than half her body weight.
Unfortunately, Patricia’s life insurance policy does not cover the full cost of her services. We would like to lay her to rest on Friday August 1st, 2025. To make this possible we will need to reach our goal of $6,000.
