Our coworker and friend, Shannon, is one of those people who shows up—no matter what.

She is a wife, a mother to two beautiful little girls, and someone who quietly carries more than most of us could imagine. Shannon has a rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). It’s a serious, life-threatening condition that affects her body’s ability to produce healthy blood cells.

Every day, she lives with constant nausea, exhaustion, and just plain feeling bad. And yet—she still shows up. She shows up for her job, her family, and her girls, even on the days when simply getting out of bed takes everything she has.

After years of waiting, testing, and fighting through insurance appeals, a new treatment has become available to her—a treatment that could truly change, and potentially save, her life. Sadly, after all that time and effort, her insurance denied coverage. The cost of this treatment is overwhelming.
