Before I begin my story, I would like to introduce myself and my father to you.

I am Ahmed Al-Asqalany, a 31-year-old graphic designer from the Gaza Strip, and my father, Younes Al-Asqalany, is a 75-year-old retired geography teacher. Before the outbreak of war, we both led comfortable lives, with opportunities to pursue our respective interests and contribute to our community. As a graphic designer, I had the privilege of working on various projects within and outside of Gaza, including a recent trip to Turkey for business purposes. Full of passion and ambition, I returned to Gaza with plans to establish my own graphic design company. However, the war-shattered all of my aspirations, leaving me with nothing but uncertainty for the future. My home and equipment were destroyed, leaving me without the means to sustain my career. Likewise, my father, despite his age and his health struggles with high blood pressure and respiratory issues, remained actively engaged in community work. However, the conflict has rendered him unable to continue his involvement, and his health has significantly deteriorated as the availability of necessary medication in Gaza has become limited.
