Just returned from 15month deployment to Iraq. Two months pcsd from Hanau to Wiesbaden then week later had to leave for 2 months for BNCOC. With 2 weeks left in course was training at MOUT site sqd on sqd and I Superman jumped out of a 4ft window into a combat roll and ran across the street to unoccupied building as part of the LP OP Team we had. Not knowing then kept training and wasnt til next day when we got out of the field I ended up going to the hospital at Ft Leonard Wood cause had problems breathing. Nurse got me a chest and back X-rays. Back scan came back and I had a T7 compression fracture 15% so they gave me Percocet. I went back to class at the NCOA then 4 hrs later called my 1SG to have me come back to hospital asap. The chest scan had abnormalities so they did a CT scan which came back I had 15-20 lymph nodes 1.5 to 3.5cm all matted together in my chest. Next day I went to get a biopsy at Harry Truman Hospital in Missouri. I got my results back the day before my final exam which was beyond stressful finding out u have cancer. I completed the course and didn't miss any course time. I returned to Germany then 10 days later started treatments at Landstuhl. Went thru 6 rounds of chemo and 20 rounds of radiation and was in remission for 1yrs. I've had over 150 rounds of IV chemo, 1 1/2yrs of oral chemo 3x a day 7 days a week, 40 rounds radiation and 2 bone marrow transplants ( Auto and Allo) been fighting since Aug 2008 on my 3rd bout now over 5 1/2yrs.He has to pay out of pocket expenses of $3,000/yr before his insurance kicks in, he's been doing that for the last 6 years. Any help is greatly appreciated.
