Today, we reach out with full and humbled hearts on behalf of a truly remarkable family—Brenna, her partner Matthew, and their three beautiful children: Addison (7) and twins Koby and Kyro (6). They are a family built on love, gentleness, resilience, and devotion. But despite all their strength, they are now facing a level of hardship no family should ever have to endure.

On October 28th, 2023, Brenna’s life changed forever. What began as an ordinary day ended in a catastrophic neck injury. She suffered a C3 fracture and a severe C4–C5 disc prolapse that crushed her spinal cord by 60%, leaving her with right-sided paralysis. In a single moment, everything she knew—everything she had worked so hard to build—was shaken to its core.

Following extensive, complex spinal surgery, Brenna fought with extraordinary courage to **relearn how to regain function of her right-side limbs**. Through relentless determination and unimaginable strength, she made progress—but her battle did not end there.

Brenna now lives with permanent right-sided neurological deficits and a series of serious, lifelong medical complications, including:

* Internal organ paralysis, requiring a urinary catheter

* Awaiting surgery for a permanent catheter to restore comfort and dignity

* **Degenerative and permanent brain tissue damage affecting the left frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes, impacting memory, cognition, and sensory processing**

* Intermittent episodes of complete limb paralysis caused by hemiplegic migraines

* **Progressive chronic kidney disease that has now advanced to kidney failure, requiring constant monitoring and ongoing treatment**

These conditions have resulted in ongoing and often lengthy hospital stays—times when she should be at home holding her children close, making memories, and resting in comfort, but instead is fighting each day simply to maintain stability.

Before her injury, Brenna was a dedicated nurse and a full-time medical student. She lived each day caring for others, learning, and building a hopeful future for her family. Losing her career and studies has been deeply heartbreaking—not only financially, but emotionally, as she grieves the life she worked so tirelessly to create.

Throughout it all, Matthew has remained by her side, stepping away from his job in the mines whenever needed to care for Brenna and their children. But with Brenna unable to work, and Matthew unable to maintain steady employment while supporting her, the financial burden has grown overwhelming.

Brenna and Matthew are not people who easily ask for help. They are humble, hardworking, loving parents who have always put others before themselves. They have faced every setback with grace and quiet strength, but the weight of this journey is now too heavy to carry alone.

And so, with love, hope, and deep gratitude, we are reaching out to our community—to anyone willing to stand beside them during this unimaginably difficult time.
