As many of you know, Mike suffered a major stroke at home and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Doctors found the stroke caused a severe brain hemorrhage, and he underwent emergency surgery that required removing a portion of his skull to relieve the swelling. He remains stable but heavily sedated in the ICU. In the days and weeks ahead, he will need another surgery to repair his skull and will continue a long, uncertain road to recovery.

Right now, he has very limited, if any, use of his right side, and CT scans show that his speech will likely be affected due to a blood clot over the frontal lobe. His recovery is impossible to predict at this time, but we know it will be a long journey. Mike is tough, built from another era, but this will be life altering.

Mike and Denise have always shown up for others. They’re the first to open their home and their hearts, lend a hand, host a meal, or offer support.

Now, as they face extended time in the hospital and time away from work, they need us more than ever. Your support will help ease the financial and emotional strain so they can focus fully on healing. Funds will help with mounting medical bills and, eventually, the home accommodations and equipment needed to bring Mike home safely.
