Hi friends and family. Those of you who have been in my life at any point know my dog Kia. You may have come over just to get covered in her hair, have given her treats and pets, and have given up a spot on the couch to her. You know this dog is my best friend, my living security alarm and protector, and my reason for getting up on those days when I couldn't be motivated to do something for myself but could for her. You know her, you know me, you know I am often too prideful to ask for help.

On Friday, Dec 19, Kia went into surgery for a bowel obstruction, a potentially fatal diagnosis for many pets and one that requires emergency surgery as soon as it's discovered, as well as a vet hospital stay of 24 hours minimum. Kia made it through her surgery, and as of December 20, she's in recovery.

The treatments she has needed so far are estimated to cost in total around $10,000, and while I would sell my own organs if I could for her, starting a GoFundMe seemed the safer option. Any amount given is so helpful. Even if you can't spare anything right now, sharing this so it gets out to as many people as possible helps so much.
