In Memory of Phil Chambers & Kirkwood Hospice

In March 2023, Phil was rushed into surgery for an emergency bladder operation before he was later diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer in April.

Initially, treatment seemed possible, but following further tests, and much like Phil himself, it turned out that the type of bladder cancer was pretty rare and hard to beat.

Tragically and unexpectedly, he deteriorated quite rapidly between May and mid-June after being discharged and sent home, resulting in his admission to Kirkwood Hospice on the evening of the 25th June, 2023. The care and support he - and we - received in his very short stay at Kirkwood was outstanding and ultra-professional.

Phil liked to gift donations on others' behalves and we feel that he would approve of any donations being made to this particular hospice as a thank you for being there for him when he needed them most.
