Help Heather kick cancer's butt!
One of our own needs help! Our friend, fellow skier, and secretary of our water ski club was just diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and could use some help!
Heather has had a horrible run of luck recently, with her cancer diagnosis being the latest pain in the butt (pun intended) that she has had to deal with. As her friends and family know, she just lost her father to brain cancer last year, and her mom is currently terminal as well. In addition, Heather recently learned that her apartment building is being sold and she will need to evacuate and find a new place to live. She has also struggled with a series of car repairs that have zapped her savings. It sounds like a bad horror movie, but its reality.
So yeah, the past year has not been very kind. However, despite all this bad luck, Heather is not one to give up or one that backs down. With everything going on last year Heather was an instrumental part of getting the Webster Water Ski Collective off the ground, serving as one of our founding members and club secretary. She recently helped us raise over $14,000 for The National Brain Tumor Society this past December by skiing in our SwaterSki event and was a major help in our Adaptive Ski Day that helped kids and adults with disabilities enjoy some time on the water.
Now its time to help give back to her.
Water skiing is one of her passions, and I am hoping that our water ski community, as well as our friends and family can help out one of our own that has helped so many others.
