"Living With A Hernia"

Remember that Weird Al song? That cover of "Living In America" by James Brown? I thought it was hilarious when I was kid...
Anyway.
I'm writing today to ask for your help. I've been out of work for a little over a month now due to a painful hernia. I'm not sure how or when it formed, but I need to get it fixed.
Despite working for the biggest tech company on the planet, I am only employed there on a part-time basis, which means my health insurance does not cover anything, including this surgery, until I hit my incredibly high deductible (thank you, US healthcare system).
This operation is estimated to run me at least $2000 out of pocket. That's a lot of money that I just don't have, especially since I've been out of work all month, and will be for an additional 3-4 weeks after surgery. And to add insult to injury, the part-time disability benefits I am receiving don't actually even cover my monthly expenses. This is why I'm reaching out.
If you have a little extra this month and can afford to throw even a dollar or two, a beer or a coffee's worth, it would definitely be appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time,
T
