Fighting for Danielle

Hello family, friends,  fighters, survivors and everyone else.  My name is Amie and together with my 16 year old niece we are trying to raise funds to cover medical expenses need for Danielle Ruiz to fight and survive her breast cancer journey.  I was starting to write about Danielle,  when I received a message from her daughter and she put it better than I could of --
"On November 20th, 2020 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It greatly affected my family because at first nobody knew what it meant. The word “cancer” scared us all and we thought the worse. It all happened so fast and she was told that she needed a lumpectomy just 11 days later. The doctor was confident that she could get it all. Unfortunately when my mom had her surgery follow up the doctor told her that was not the case and that the cancer was in majority of her right breast. She recommended her to have a mastectomy. This is when the craziness and the long waiting period began. She has had several appointments for testing, genetics, and MRI’s and was eventually referred to a surgeon in Madison (which is an hour from our house). Due to COVID and her working in the healthcare field her doctors do not want her to return to work until she is fully recovered from her surgery. This means that my dad is the only one that is working and taking care of this big family.

She will be having a much larger and more invasive surgery on March 2nd. She will be having a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. She will be in the hospital for 4-5 days and due to COVID my dad can not be there with her but wants to be as close to her as possible. My family will be staying in a hotel for the time my mom is in the hospital so we don’t have to drive back and forth and can be there if she needs us. Then there are lots of things that my dad will need to do to make sure my mom is comfortable at home as far as medical equipment and driving an hour away for each follow up appointment. She will need a lot of help and assistance for the first 4 weeks and doctor said 6-8 weeks to recover fully.

My dad has organized a fundraiser but again due to Covid restrictions and majority of our family living in different states, I thought it was a good idea to put this together with my aunts help. I’m only 16 years old and there is not much that I can do but my mom has done endless things for our family and she deserves to focus on herself and her recovery without worrying. Any donation will greatly help and my family and I appreciate it."

So please help and pray for my sister, a very hardworking mom of 4 reach her goal and/or share for awareness.
