Hi everyone, I’m Ross, setting up this fundraiser for 9 year Mason to help cover medical expenses. Mason was recently diagnosed with Lipomyelomeningocele, which is a rare congenital birth defect, where a fatty mass (lipoma) attaches to the spinal cord and protrudes through an opening in the spine. Post surgical complications including a Cerebral Spinal Fluid leak, Meningitis and Hydrocephalus have drastically changed their daily life and left them unable to return to work. Our length of stay at the Alberta Children’s Hospital is predicted to be lengthy and uncertain as to when we will be able to return back home. We are hoping to raise $10 000 to cover specific costs like hotel stays, travel costs, medical costs, housing and after medical care by May 31, 2026.
