Amanda: the IX adventure
It all began 10 years ago. The first step was choosing to follow Jesus and give my whole life to serving Him. I couldn't even imagine what that would entail. Over the years, He has led me to a a few Christian colleges, a few states and even the Dominican Republic. He has shown me so much and I feel blessed to take this next step and say YES to something that I have been fighting for quite some time.
For the past 10 years, my vision for ministry has not changed. It has always been about ministry to students, whether they are high school or college. I believe God wants to see students of all ages come to know Jesus and grow in relationship with Him. Students crave relationships with people who will treat them as equal and engage in all aspects of their life. Whether it means midweek coffee chats, showing up to their school event or engaging them in discussion at bible study - they want it all.
Through this internship, I will have the opportunity to partner with Rock City to reach the lost and spiritually restless on high school and college campuses right here in my hometown. I've loved this city for so long and am so grateful to be a part of a church that is seeking the lost and spiritually restless. I cannot wait to learn from the staff and other interns as I go on this adventure but I am more excited about my relationship with God during this time. I know that this level of trust is going to stretch me and push me toward a fuller reliance on Him for my every need. All I have to do is look back and see how He has always provided in the past, and I am assured. His Word is also an encouragement and I am praying that He will stir you to provide scripture and prayers over this season.
The other aspect that I would ask you to prayerfully consider is that I am raising support and also seeking part time employment. Whatever I am not able to raise, I am hoping to provide through part time work. So if you know of anyone looking to hire someone with a strange schedule, please let me know.
If you do not feel comfortable using the GoFundMe option, Rock City will also take donations and I'll update the link to that as soon as I have it.
Thank you for your prayerful support and your encouragement.
Love, Amanda
