In 2014 my very dear friend Denise Jeffries was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. After a year and a half of chemo, radiation and surgeries Denise was considered clear of cancer.
In September 2015 Denise started having ongoing symptoms of low back pain, weakness and numbness in her leg. She went in for a scheduled MRI on December 22, 2015. Her oncologist called that same day to tell her they found that the triple negative breast cancer had metastasized to her spine and throughout her body. Denise was considered stage IV.
Since December Denise has been in and out of UCSF hospital and she is now in hospice care.
During this time her husband Craig has lost his job. They have three children Grace 11, Luke 9 and Abigail 3.
I'm sure you can imagine how difficult this has been emotionally and financially on their family. Although God continues to sustain their family I hope that by starting this fundraiser we can come together to help ease the tremendous stress by the mounting costs.
