Help Kenny Kick Cancer

Donation protected
Shortly after Christmas Dad went to the hospital for a headache he couldn't quite kick. After doing a scan and finding multiple brain tumors, he was transferred to Evansville where they did several further tests. Over the last two weeks, we have learned that dad has Stage 4 melanoma. A full body scan revealed tumors on his brain, spine, kidneys, liver, lungs, and lymph nodes along with lesions throughout his entire body on his bones. He immediately had a biopsy done and started radiation on his brain in hopes of preventing any seizures or strokes that could be caused by his brain tumors. He has also began radiation on his ribs to hopefully help shrink a tumor that is causing intense pain.

Earlier this week we sat down with his oncologist to discuss treatment options. We learned that another biopsy is needed to gain a full understanding of what this cancer will look like over the next few months. However, as of right now we know that it is classified as "incurable" and that it has already spread through most of his body.

Dad has already made over ten trips back and forth to Evansville with several more in his near future. Already on a limited income, his treatments and expenses are taking a toll on him financially. He is hopeful that by following doctors' orders and continuing radiation and future treatments he can have a few GREAT years left with his kids and grandkids. That said, one of his greatest fears is leaving behind a financial burden for his children and others who are helping transport him to and from daily. We are hoping that through fundraising, we can raise enough to cover gas, overnight stays, food, and other expenses to help him continue his treatments and stay on top of this for the best long-term prognosis. If you feel compelled to help and support him in this journey we would be so grateful.

Dad has stated that if you are not comfortable/able to make donations online, checks can be mailed directly to him and will be added to an account that is specific for cancer treatments, care, and other financial burdens. Also, feel free to send an encouraging letter or note to help brighten up his day during this difficult time!
