After receiving the devastating news that my mother in-law was on full life support in the ICU, we left out of town right away to be with her. Who knew this situation was what would be saving our lives. We received a phone message from the Fire Captain at the San Jose Fire Department on Sunday March 5th, telling us we had a large house fire in the wee hours of the morning and our home was deemed unlivable. Being miles and miles away, we couldn't realize this until we saw it with our very own eyes. When we did, it was unbelievable and it still is. Our lives have been shaken. Nearly everything was lost and we had become homeless overnight due to the extensive fire and smoke damage. Homeless. This is not a word I would like to use but this is exactly that. It hurts to think it and much more to say it. We have lived in the Cambrian community of San Jose for over 10 years. Our daughters attend Price and Fammatre Schools and have played on the West Valley Slammers League. My husband is also actively volunteering on the WVS board of directors and has also volunteered his time for several seasons as a coach. So as we go along raising our little family in this wholesome community of kind people, to have everything taken so suddenly is something we were not ever prepared for. We're devastated. But my husband and I are being strengthened by each other, our two daughters and our wonderful Cambrian community family and friends. I know asking for help is not always easy, but we must. We need help to pick our lives up from the ashes and try to rebuild it again somehow. Whatever is spoken into your hearts, we will receive with humble appreciation and gratitude from the bottom of our broken hearts. Thank you and may God bless you greatly for your generosity.
