Ok here goes nothing. My name is Theresa and allow me to introduce my Hero. My Dad Thomas Boatman. He currently is battling major health issues traveling to the Mayo clinic for appointments and tests. It has taken a toll. My Dad has dedicated his life to helping others, Whether its for the Volunteer Fire Department, The Rescue Squad, Community Events, the School, or wherever he is needed. He is almost always there for anyone in need. So here is a little history of my Dad and why he's a hero to me. Maybe when I am done He will be your hero too. My dad has endured health issues for many years. He has had 2 heart attacks and numerous mini strokes. He also has a Connective Tissue disorder known as Marfan's Syndrome, that affects his health constantly. When I was born he was given 6 months to a year to live. Here we are 17 years later and I am blessed to have him. He seems to always smile, and have everything handled. But in reality he is in pain every minute of every day. He forges ahead regardless of his pain, his stress, or fatigue. This latest health scare has really taken our family to task. I have watched my dad lose 70lbs in 7 months , be less active, be in more pain , and becoming more dependent on others. I know a few have offered to help and have helped. Many say if you need anything just let us know. Well the problem is as many know My Dad is stubborn and seldom ask for help. He has to go to Rochester Mn to see his team of Doctors. Its our only chance to keep our Hero around a few more years. With my mom losing her job in May and not starting a new job, because of Family health issues. It could be another few weeks until they are back on track financially. That means after his next round at Mayo's on July 18th I worry he may not be able to go back. So like my Dad , I am strong and mouthy also. So I will be the one to ask for him. If you wish to help MY HERO. Donate please. Even small amounts help.
