My sister is the kindest person I know. She's the one on the right, or as she would jokingly say "the cuter one on the right". She has always been my example of endurance and perseverance through the worst circumstances life can throw at you. We are only 2 years apart so growing up we would fuss and fight but at the end of the day we always had each other's backs. Growing up we moved around a lot and being the "oddballs" was something we had to get used to. During those years my sister was shy and I was loud and obnoxious so consequently she was always dragging her baby sister out of one mess or another. She always made sure I was ok. She always included me. When I look back I can't believe how blessed I am to have this amazing person as my sister. As we grew older we depended more on each other. She encourages me and is my biggest cheerleader in all that I do. I can't count the times she has rescued me and She never expects anything in return except for a phone call and a hug. A few weeks ago I got knocked to my knees. My best friend, my rock has a large basketball tumor on her right ovary. We are both single moms and we both struggle financially but pride ourselves on that fact that our children are well taken care of. Honestly, we both work like crazy to support our families. My sister has maintained a health insurance policy but frankly it really is lousy. The deductible is insane. And like most working moms the very little savings we have is just gone after a week of not working. She will have surgery on March 8th and I am asking most of all for prayer. She still has two of her four children in high school living at home and life does not stop. Expenses are piling up and I am afraid she will loose everything she has worked so hard for in a matter of a month or so. The doctors are saying her recovery will be long and she will not be able to work for awhile and that's if everything goes well. That's if they don't find malignancy. So as I write this I think of all the people my sister has graciously helped through the years. I think about the unconditional love she gives everyone she meets. I think about the fact that she has so many friends because she is the best friend anyone could have. The best sister anyone could ever have.
