The HBCU Africa Education Coalition (HAEC) provides students with opportunities to study abroad. These opportunities are student exchanges rooted in a Pan-African model that promote:
* Pan-Africanism,
* Global competency,
* Leadership skills among students of African ancestry
I have the great fortune to have been chosen to participate in a HAEC cohort of student leaders from HBCUs, African universities, and other institutions of higher learning. We will participate in a two-week intensive learning program in Ghana.
Our educational experience will focus on the principles of identity of Africa, humanism, African unity, and socialism—experiences that will broaden my world view, empower me with more extensive cultural roots, and serve as a bedrock for my career serving vulnerable learners.
Our Ghanaian learning experience will commence this May and comes with notable financial obligations. The total expense of the study abroad program is $3,500.00. Additionally, there are other expenses that include health exams, medication, travel to and from the departure location, and more.
I humbly ask for your financial contributions to support this amazing, life-changing experience. The full payment is expected by April 1, 2023.
I look forward to following this communication with pictures and updates from my trip to Ghana.
