HAEC-3GC Study Abroad Experience

Hello!

My name is Chrishonda O'Quinn. I am a Junior Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Mathematics at Tennessee State University! Currently, I am raising money to study abroad in Ghana during a portion of the Summer of 2023! Knowledge, collaboration, and culture are powerful. I have a strong desire to educate myself and the generations who will come after me, as well as share that same knowledge with individuals in my generation. I believe this experience will aid me in achieving this.

The HBCU Africa Education Coalition (HAEC) provides students the opportunity to study abroad and student exchange which uses a Pan-African model designed to promote Pan-Africanism, Global Competency, and Leadership skills among students of African Ancestry. I and other student leaders from HBCUs and African Universities will focus on the principles of Identity and the Primacy of Africa, Humanism, and African Unity and Socialism which will allow me to take action to make my local, national, and international ecosystems more Equitable and Inclusive. In December 2022, I received my acceptance notification from HAEC to study abroad in Africa from May - Jun of 2023.
