Hello, My name is Josh Holland, I am raising funds for my Battle Buddy Brandon Cherry. Brandon and his family have been through so much the past 8 years. Not long after their Daughter Georgia was born, she was diagnosed with infant liver cancer, thankfully there was a match from a family member to be a donor. Here we are 3 years later, and Georgia is doing fine and cancer free.
Brandon however was just diagnosed with Cancer; with treatment and surgery it does sound like he will be able to beat it. The issue is Brandon is the main financial supporter for his family, He does have insurance, savings, and may qualify for some sort of short-term disability. After talking to Brandon and his Wife Seanese the process will take about a year. They figure they will fall short about $25,000 of their financial needs to still be able to pay the bills.
I first meet Brandon in 2004 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. He was part of a team that was put together of service members all over the US. We were the first team on the ground to start to outfit, train and build bases for the Iraqi Army and Police. During our year in Iraq Brandon and I became good friends. Here we are 17 years later still looking after each other and checking on our battles 6. When Georgia was sick, he would not except help, I had to force a few dollars on him when we meet them in Orlando, where the Make A Wish Foundation sent them for their daughter, Georgia. Now even though he is unable to work he is still trying to find ways not to ask for help. After talking to Brandon and Seanese any money left over will be donated to Cancer research.
I hope you can find it in your hearts to help a family that truly deserves it; but I certainly wish they did not need it!
