Help my best friend
Donation protected
The guy on the left is my best friend!
We met in high school when I did a year abroad and we have been inseparable since...
Back in the days he told me he had a disease where his kidneys would fail eventually...I couldn't believe his story, because it seemed so unreal...
Eventually it happened...a few years ago he began to start feeling sick and weak...
Being a flight attendent, he was excited to fly across the world, meet new friends and experience different cultures!
With the start of his kidney failure, he was still able to work...not flying though anymore which broke his heart. He soon had to be plugged onto a home-dialysis system every night...still being able to work, but not being able to swim or do sports anymore...
He was put on the donation list...at that time living in California with his fiancée, the list was too long...they decided to move to Oregon...to speed up the process of receiving a donation.
Eventually in 2016, he started to feel weaker as usual and when the doctors told him, his home-dialysis system is not working anymore, his world shuttered again...
Already in debt from all previous medical procedures and doctors appointments, he is not even able to work anymore...his dialysis is three times a week...up to 4 hours a day!
It breaks my heart to see this beautiful human being not only being desperate for life and enjoying his thirties like he should be, but also to struggle with bills, like he never had to before!
With the beginning of this year, in order to save up as much as he could, he decided to move back home, in with his parents..
Please help me help my friend! It's hard for me to hear his struggles across the globe (I am based in Germany) and not being able to help!
I want for him to solely focus on becoming healthy again and not having to cope with the additional struggles of increasing his debt!
Maybe there is also a donor out there, who might be a match!
We appreciate all donations, even if they are little! Everything at this point helps!
Thank you so much for taking time to read his story #staystrongstephen
