"On Wednesday morning we took Piper to her pediatricians office after a few days of fevers, vomiting and just not being herself. I packed a small bag with the thought that she may have a burst appendix and we would be back to our lives in a few days if that were true. After an abdominal CT showed a tumor on her right kidney, our lives quite literally changed. The words cancer and radiation and chemo were the first words to follow. Piper has a Wilms tumor which in easy terms, she has cancerous tumor on her right kidney.
There are a lot of unknowns but all we know is that the next year of her life is going to be drastically different.
As of today she is going to have her right kidney removed as well as the tumor. We will be at children’s for her recovery post op while we wait for pathology to come back to plan out her chemo/radiation treatment plan."
Please consider donating to Piper and her family. She will be traveling back and forth to Children's hospital and enduring radiation and chemotherapy for the next year.
