Jenn’s Journey

Hi! my name is Leslie Sykes and I have a sister, friend, work wife and an AMAZING mama, that needs our help!!! Jennifer (aka Jenny) is all of these things and so much more to us! But here recently she has had some serious hardships come her way. Let me tell you a bit more about her story……I met Jennifer when I transferred to the Salisbury Shuckin Shack in 2019. We spent so many weekend doubles together that we became work wife’s through so much laughter and tears..…our work; is our home away from home, our chosen Family! So of course we bonded over work, our children and all the ups and downs that life has to offer. I learned that she is a single mom to three beautiful boys! Chancellor (8) Chavari (15)and Charalis (16). They are her absolute everything, her entire world. I learned that Jennifer’s favorite color is yellow, that she’s Fair. Loves to laugh with her friends, wants love and respect for everyone and will stop what she’s doing to listen to whatever story you have to share about your world. I learned she would give you the shirt off her back if that meant to protect you from the cold. She’s truly a light in a dim room❤️Jennifer has recently been diagnosed with a form of breast cancer known as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC). This week alone she will receive an iron IV and have her first surgery that starts her on her cancer journey. This first surgery alone will put her out of work for a week. Soon to follow will be radiation, doctors visits and reconstructive surgeries. To go along with this crazy week. Her car was recently stolen from her and completely totaled. Hindering her from having a reliable source of transportation to those many doctor’s appointments. So with it being December and all the holidays coming up. We want to do something special for Jennifer and her boys. We want to be able to give them peace of mind and security for Christmas. Her journey is a long one but she will not fight it alone. She has an AMAZING army of family, friends and restaurant family by her side! BUT we will need all the help we can get to help along the way. Join us in helping on Jenn’s journey ❤️
