Hello, my name is Michael & I am asking for any help for my wife Gina of 47 years who is diagnosed with ALS or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig Disease, a degenerative motor neuron disease with no known cure. As of today, the doctors at U of M medical have given her a 2 to 5-year life expectancy. We are getting swamped with co-pays as well as all the many other medical expenses & our only income is our social security checks. Some of the co-pays we are learning about for equipment are out of control for our budget. The needed equipment will give my wife some of her mobility and independence back & free up a great deal of my time that can be used for other needed care, which goes 24/7/365. Even a donation of 1 dollar would help towards the expenses. We are getting involved with the services from the ALS clinic in Ann Abor to help with some of the possible services offered. Any donations will go directly to Gina's care & any excess of the donations will go to ALS of Michigan & also the national arm of the ALS Association because they really need the help and they are helping us now navigate thru this very mean disease.
