My mother, Denise (Painter) Halvorson, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She started chemotherapy, so my childhood best friend and I decided to cut our hair in order to make her a wig. The cost of the wig is $1200. We are hoping to raise money for the wig and any other outstanding medical bills along the way.

Any excess funds will be donated directly to Camp Okizu, a camp that helps families heal and come together in the fight against childhood cancer. Okizu was recently devastated by the North Complex Fire and is fundraising to rebuild their campus.  My siblings and I have all been both campers and volunteer staff members at the camp throughout many years and it holds a special part in our hearts.
