A lot has happened since April 22nd, 2022 when my brother’s massive stroke left him severely disabled. He has made great strides in his cognition and speech, however, he has a long way to go in his recovery (about another year or so until I can bring him back home). I can elaborate on the complex details of his recovery that I’ll explain later on the Caring Bridge website I set up for him. Thanks to your immensely generous donations these past few months, I was able to pay off his legal fees and a few ambulance bills. I’ve been managing since with a great teaching job (that I’m SO grateful for) as well as his state disability checks. This resource has been exhausted though, and I am now in the process of finalizing his paperwork for SSD benefits. Due to COVID backlogs, these won’t kick in until late January/early February. Funds will be used to put in his emergency legal guardianship account which is currently in the red until his disability benefits kick in.
