My mom Mary lost her home in Pacific Palisades on Wednesday evening to the devastating Palisades Fire. This house held countless cherished memories where we all lived, from her granddaughter learning to walk to the companionship of her beloved dog, Boo. It was a place where friendships blossomed, and the sense of community thrived, all of which has now been lost . As she entered retirement moving back to Santa Barbara, the house in Palisades also became her primary source of income, helping to cover her rent in Santa Barbara and other living expenses. Compounding the loss, she has been dealing with a complicated situation involving a tenant who refused to pay rent and squatted for eight months after being evicted. We've learned that rebuilding could take two to three years, leaving her reliant only on her savings which was never intended to sustain such an extended period of loss . I am actively seeking ways to support her in the immediate future while we develop a long-term plan. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy, and I am truly grateful for any support you can provide during this incredibly challenging time.
