Almost three years ago, My brother, Todd, his wife, Misti, my niece, Emma and nephew, Benjamin, opened their home to welcome 2 additional children, Lauralai (Taco) and Preston (Monkey).
These children were in dire need of a better situation and were without hesitation taken in by Todd and Misti.
This undertaking was done with the only thought being that these children are family and need to be taken care of properly. Throughout the years, we have seen them grow and prosper under the loving care of Todd and Misti.
As of now, these children are "daughter", "son", "sister", and "brother". It's time to make those titles permanent and legally binding.
Unfortunately, the cost of adopting two children is quite high and we are trying to help them raise the money to make this happen. (I mean, seriously, who wouldn't want to be a De Groot???)
They have never asked for anything from anyone other than love for all their children, but now it is time for me to ask for some help to make this family even fuller.
The target goal for this fund drive is $10,000. Any little bit will go a long way to ensuring that Lauralai and Preston will forever live in a loving environment.
