Praying For Roman's Recovery
Donation protected
On November 5, 2016 my Nephew Roman suffered a concussion while playing with some friends at his house. He tried jumping a hedge and fell on the side of his head against the street pavement. Soon after he had a constant headache and severe dizziness. After several tests, it was found that Roman damaged his central vestibular system (which controls eye movement and balance). - This is not an inner ear problem, it is related to brain function. On January 26th, Roman fell down two steps and although he does not recall much from the fall, he felt much pain on his left shoulder and his headache and dizziness were now uncontrollable. The pain increased and debilitated his ability to walk over the course of 3 weeks... This led to my sister Alicia and my brother-in-law Caesar to take him to Cohen's Children's Hospital where he was admitted on Thursday, Feb. 9th. Feb. 17th Roman had a spinal MRI to rule out that he suffered an injury to the spine during his second fall which may help explain his debilitating headache and dizziness. Luckily, the MRI results were clear and showed nothing was wrong with his spine. Yesterday, Feb. 18th, Roman was transferred to Southside Hospital's InPatient Rehabilitation Facility where he will begin intensive Vestibular Rehabilitation to get him walking again!! Roman will be receiving therapy 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. This page was set up as a way to help cover Roman's medical expenses that have and will continue to add up during his hospital stay and his recovery. Although he has medical insurance, we all know insurance covers only a portion and then leaves the family having to pay large amounts of medical expenses. Please help with what you can. Any amount helps. But even if you can't, please share this post to help me spread the word. On behalf of Alicia and Caesar, we want everyone you to know that if more money is collected than is needed for Roman's care, they will donate the rest to Southside Hospital's Brain & Rehab Center.THANK YOU and God Bless!
