In the Summer of 2013, Chuy was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung cancer and it had spread to his spinal cord. His Doctor told him that it was incurable and they could only try to keep it under control. Chuy said, "cancer isn't going to kick my ass without a fight" so he continues to fight and stay positive. In the Fall of 2015, his doctor told him that it has spread to his brain. The medication has him so exhausted, he doesn't have an appetite and he's losing weight. He does currently have insurance, but it doesn't pay for copays, bills, gas, food ect. He has a wife and 3 children. His daughter Alyssa is 18, Logan 17 and his baby Lexxy is 4. He did start the paperwork to be medically retired, it just can't come soon enough. I hope the process doesn't take to much longer. He just had an appointment on Friday, the 17th of February and his doctor expressed to him that the tumors they were treating in his brain were fading, but there was new ones on his cerebrospinal fluid, which explains why he is so fatigued and he's having trouble with his thought process and speech. He still has no appetite and continues to lose weight. His wife had to go to work recently and little daughter to pre-school so she can help out with finances. Chuy continues to fight. If you can help we would really appreciate it. Anything would help! We appreciate all of your continued prayers and support, it means the world to Chuy.
