Grandma Needs Help

My grandma is the strongest woman I know. She has worked every day of her life for 55 years and unfortunately has no pension saved up.

Just before Covid-19, my grandma was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. After multiple hospital stays and being dropped by paramedics and breaking bones… she was asked to retire as COVID was a danger to her health.

my grandma tried everything in her power over the last 3 years to keep us going. But unfortunately losing 2/3 of her income made it almost impossible.

Now 3 years later, we have gotten nowhere with the lawsuit against the region.

As if times weren’t hard enough…

In December 2022, our private mortgage holder told us he wanted his money back, as the market had crashed 30%

He gave us until Dec.22 to put the house on the market, and now a month later since it has not sold he has given us an eviction notice.

After 33 years of fighting through hard times, my family is finally losing the home that means everything to us. The home I was raised at. The home where every family reunion was held for over 20 years. The home my grandpa died at.

My grandma has done so much for people. Lending money without being paid back, taking in her disabled niece for 11 years, sending me to college…

The last seven years have been a series of bad events for my family since my grandfather committed suicide. But up until COVID we were managing. But its time to say goodbye to everything we have fought for, and start a new story.

This is such a hard time for me, but it’s even harder to see my grandma go through this. She has given so much, to anyone who asked- and now when she is in need she has no one to turn to.

This is the hardest time of my life. And it is so embarrassing to ask for help, but if we don’t come up with the first and last month’s rent by Apr.1 – we will be homeless.

UPDATE: I have raised the goal to $10000 as we have hit our rent goal . However we still have moving expenses and bills are piling up. So any extra cash helps so much.
