Endometriosis Medical Bills

Hi - my name is Jessica and I have been suffering from debilitating Endometriosis for over 15 years. Many people have never heard of endometriosis, but it is an incredibly painful disease that affects 1/10 women around the world. It has also been ranked among the top 20 most painful diseases. It has all the same symptoms and effects as cancer, but there is no cure and 1/4 women with endometriosis have contemplated suicide. Living with this disease has become less than bearable.
Due to the severity of my condition, I've had to go on an unpaid leave from my job in San Francisco and have no real income. I had to move back home to live with my dad. Most of my days are spent in bed in pain whether it's a migraine, body pains, fatigue, or all at the same time. More often than not, I wake up in pain and go to sleep in pain. That pain is my normal, and it's been steadily getting worse. I constantly battle between wanting to take care of myself and having some kind of life, and it has affected many of my relationships as a result.
My symptoms:
- Debilitating pelvic pain throughout the month
- Chronic fatigue
- Severe chronic migraines that last days or weeks at a time
- Terrible lower back pain
- Muscular pains in my middle back
- Shooting pains (similar to a gas bubble) in my upper back and shoulders
- Tension headaches
- Chronic anxiety and depression
As there is no cure, I am constantly seeking treatment, in the hospital, going to doctors appointments, etc. I had a surgery in 2017 to remove the endometrial tissue, but it unfortunately has grown back and it's safe to say I have been getting worse. As I am unable to work full-time, I cannot keep up with the bills associated with this disease.
Currently, the treatments are medication management, laparoscopy and endometrial excision/ablation surgery, and not a whole lot else. The surgeries, like most, can be very expensive. My last surgery cost about $16,000 out of pocket. That's a lot for anyone. While I've done what I can to pay, I'm struggling now given my recent lack of income and the anxiety around it is really becoming an issue in itself.
I am very proud, so this is difficult for me to do, but I am asking to raise some money to help pay my medical bills. They have, at this point, started to affect my credit. Any help is appreciated and many thanks in advance.
