Help Kevin Reunite with His Family

His alarm just went off. I've been trying to figure out how to start this page and share it in the midst of so much need. I'm sitting here with my laptop open and I heard a strange alarm—it's his cell phone wake-up alarm—a life interrupted. And he's one of thousands.

Here are the facts. On Tuesday, January 13th, two plainclothes ICE "agents" sat in Pancho's parking lot for 20 minutes watching people go in and out of the building. One of our employees, who is here legally with a work permit, walked out the back door to take out the trash and access the storage unit. These two men entered the storage unit and dragged him out. You can view the video and try to forget his screams for help. In the struggle, he left behind his phone, his glasses, and his hat.

Our employee, Kevin, is married and has small children. Despite paying legal fees over the years to obtain his work permit and be here legally, he was moved from the Whipple Building in Minneapolis to El Paso within 12 hours. Twice, in those first hours, we attempted to bring him his glasses so that he can see, only to realize he had immediately been transported. We've paid several thousand to the attorney already and he will need funds for a bond that will be issued by a judge in the next week or so.

All dollars raised will go to Kevin and his family for legal fees and living expenses while he and his wife are unable to work and provide for their family. If you can give, give what you can and if you can't, DO what you can for our neighbors.
