It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to many whom left us on August 10 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Doreen was known for—her kindness, sense of humor, generosity, or passions. Her life touched so many, and her love will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

As our family grieves this profound loss, we are faced with the unexpected costs of funeral and memorial arrangements.

Doreen who left this world on August 10th — her son’s birthday. This day, once filled with joy, will now forever carry the bittersweet memory of love and loss.

Doreen came to Canada from Jamaica to visit her family, full of life and excitement to spend time with her loved ones. During her stay, we noticed she wasn’t feeling well, so we took her to the doctor — never expecting the devastating news we would receive. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, a silent illness she had unknowingly carried for so long.

Because she was only visiting Canada, she wasn’t eligible for the medical care she desperately needed here. With broken hearts, we had to send her back to Jamaica, hoping she could receive treatment there. But when she arrived, the doctors confirmed the cancer had spread to her bones and there was nothing more they could do. She spent her final days surrounded by family, and on August 10th, she passed peacefully.

Our family is now facing the emotional pain of her loss and the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses.

My husband works for TFt global Inc and with what is going on with the automotive industry its hard to plan a funeral in another country. We want to give Doreen the farewell she deserves — one that honors her beautiful spirit, her and the light she brought into our world.
