Our sweet boy Dennis passed away peacefully yesterday, February 13th, afternoon at 2:51 PM.
He was absolutely the best of BOTH his mother and father, and EVERYONE that knew him is BEYOND blessed to have known him because he is a wonderful, beautiful boy! He will go on to be an organ and tissue donor for other children in need; his giving and loving soul would have it no other way.
As most of you know, Dennis was born with the heart defect Tetralogy of Fallot. He has had a pacemaker since he was eight months old.
He had heart surgery on Friday that consisted of replacing his pacemaker and the pulmonary valve. Almost 24 hours after surgery, we discovered he suffered not one but two strokes due to an air embolus. The strokes then led to seizures as well as increased intracranial pressure and then further complications.
Dennis Lee goes into surgery today, February 14th, at 4:00 PM. He will be donating his liver, his spleen, his pancreas, his kidneys, and his lower intestines. Kids are flying in from all over the country and Dennis Lee is going to SAVE THEIR LIVES. I cannot fathom a more beautiful and selfless Valentine's Day gift.
