Back in August of 2016, Keri started experiencing migraines with aura. By December the migraines progressed and became daily. Some days she could have anywhere from 3-5 of them. It was debilitating at times and made it difficult to remember things and even put words together. We became very concerned and sought out a specialist to help us figure out what was going on. The doctor ordered an MRI as he too was concerned. On February 6th Keri had the MRI. That afternoon we received one of the worst phone calls. The doctor said the scan had revealed a very large tumor almost the size of a baseball. We were obviously devastated and immediately scheduled to see a neurosurgeon that week to determine what would be next. We found out that it had to be removed and removed quickly. Keri has surgery scheduled on February 24th. It will be a long and difficult surgery with many risks involved. We are currently undergoing several tests to help the surgeon better navigate her brain during surgery and to effectively remove the tumor. We won't know if the tumor is malignant or benign until it has been removed. Either way, she will have a long road of recovery including chemotherapy or radiation, depending on the stage on the tumor. This is definitely a test of faith in our lives right now, but every night we pray together and ask God to grow our marriage stronger. Even more than that, we ask Him to grow our relationship with Him. Never once have we asked God to grow us in a particular way; we've only asked that He draw us closer to Him. That is what He is doing with us right now - drawing us closer to Him. We've had people ask if we were going to set something up like this due to the financial strain this can create. Keri will be out of work for around 6 weeks and we will be without her income during that time. We have no idea what other expenses might arise.
