Tough Financial Situation
Donation protected
1 July 2023:
I utilizing my resources through the VA and am looking to seek higher education. In the meantime, I appreciate any and all financial assistance. The battle of depression and anxiety is a tough one as well as troubles with addiction. Thank you to everyone. I love all of you.
13 April 2023:
Unfortunately,
Life continues to throw many obstacles at me. I am going through a divorce and will have to navigate life on my own. I am incredibly thankful for everything that's been done for me and to all that have donated. I have a lot of things I need to do now to turn my life around and I have little to work with.
The battle with my mental health is one I can surely win with enough faith.
God bless you all.
Update 15 March 2023:
Unfortunately had to part ways with the cats. They are being taken care of and will be okay and I hope they find new homes. I will miss them dearly, they were like my children.
I have finally been evicted as of last week. I am also dealing with some injuries I sustained during a rainstorm and will have some surgeries... it's not that big of a deal, I do have a place to stay but story of my life right? Lol.
I do want to say that I greatly appreciate everything that everyone has done for me and all of the donations have helped greatly and have sustained me. I am extremely sad about the cats, however I will continue to press forward with whatever life throws at me.
Update once more:
I have been struggling with depression and anxiety over the past several months and I have been on many different medications and going to therapy but I am now in the final stages of the eviction process and anything that can help
will help
and I appreciate it very much and I'm eternally grateful for all of the help and support you all have given me
Thank you so much
Update:
I have a lot going on right now.
Mercy has taken some stuff to Texas. I would like to move out there but I have some obligations here in California so I cannot leave until the summer.
Anything helps.
Another update: thank you to everyone who has donated, I really appreciate it. Still trying to get a hold of my landlord but I was not able to come up with the money in time so I'm assuming there will be some sort of legal proceedings or at least forfeiture of our apartment. I have some money saved up and we have employment, I'm not sure how long it will take to catch up with my financial debts and dues but I'm sure it'll happen eventually but I think my best bet is to put all of my belongings in storage soon and get a hotel somewhere
It is what it is
Update: I am currently in the process of being evicted from my apartment. I was involuntarily admitted into the hospital for two weeks back in March for a mental health crisis which disrupted my working schedule and income flow. I was able to make up a bit of money by selling some of my belongings and have been playing catch-up, basically, with bills and rent. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and they had overpaid me on my final paycheck so the IRS collected roughly $2000 on my tax return, which was hoping would be able to cover rent... but in addition to that was in a car accident that raised my insurance rates dramatically, $400 every few months, I also had to replace my tires, unfortunately (| own my car outright at least, so that's good, but the registration is overdue as of this month) also, unfortunately, got a speeding ticket (my fault, I understand) while taking my wife to work which net me another $400. lam currently paying roughly $2200 a month in rent and probably an additional $500-$1000 in utilities/bills/expenses. We have cut back on food consumption because figured that would help save money.
We had a budget but these events basically chipped away at my reserve funds. can only sell so many of my belongings before running out of collateral. Beyond this, I was denied unemployment and denied food assistance so I cannot even turn to those government resources. I do not qualify for them. have been working regularly but only make minimum wage as does my wife. We are both college educated. I have 7 years of experience in the Air Force and my wife has worked 4 jobs in the past and was recently picked up for another job. She recently quit her current job and picked up a new one due to the working environment. We had thought we'd be able to maintain funds and switch over smoothly but more bills and things came into place to take what little money we had. My wife currently has federal employment lined up that would take us out of this financial rut and more than save us but that is not a guarantee and even if it is, it is several months out in the future.
We also have three cats whom I love dearly. My first cat was adopted from a shelter in Okinawa. My second cat was a rescue in Okinawa who had a ton of medical conditions that could have taken his life but we sheltered him and helped him return to mostly normal. Both of these cats have been with me through hell and back, traveling to Korea and California and Japan and living in all sorts of situations... so I refuse to give them up under any circumstances (this was suggested to us...). The third cat I have is a recent adoption and I'm sure he'll be on many adventures as well but I love him all the same.
With our current jobs I am not sure we will ever be able to recover. However, I am currently looking into placing all of my belongings in storage and staying at a hotel if I can, we will be basically homeless after the 9th.
I also commute quite a lot and had to commute very far with gas prices being $6/gallon over here and me having to commute roughly 30 - 40 miles a day to take my wife to work (we only have one car, cannot afford another car, if we could then we'd not be in this situation lol).
I know this probably just comes across as me making excuses. I suppose that is the case. I am just asking if anyone could help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. We have been married for 8 years and have a lot of goals and animations but have been hurt incredibly hard by the pandemic, as I know literally everyone else in the world has also had to go through similar things.
Any and all help is appreciated, I am only asking for money and nothing more. If you cannot provide that, I understand, but the money will be used to immediately pay the rent and financial dues (I am in debt financially trying to make ends meet... my credit score used to be 780 but it is now 560 so I do not even qualify for any loans) (assuming I can even withdraw it in time, I fear it is too late at this point — I think eviction is inevitable)
Update: we've secured jobs and our future employment opportunities (which I cannot discuss much because they are government matters) seem to be panning out so that's cool, if it works out anyway, we'll figure something out. But anyway I'd like to thank those who have donated — it means a lot to us that you are willing to help us in our time of need.
Hi,
We're currently behind on rent and in a rough spot at the moment. Only have about 20 days to come up with the money. Anything would help. We're both in-between jobs and due to life events we are both doing freelance work at the moment while waiting to start future employment. This could not have been the worst time for us to end up in this situation.
A culmination of unforseen events (traffic accident resulting in increased insurance rates), medical issues (a nearly 2 week hospitalization), credit issues and one of us having to leave work ended up with us falling behind on our finances. We'd have the means to continue forward if we could get a monetary boost. We have career paths in the future but not enough time in between when we start those paths and when rent, bills, etc. are due.
With rising gas prices and the economy being the way it is, and I'm sure everyone is feeling this (not just us), that's also been a point of financial stress. We are frequently commuting for freelance work.
Regardless of what happens, I would like to keep my apartment and be able to return to a state of normalcy. However, I simply cannot come up with the $6000 on my own in such a short amount of time that would be needed to resolve tons of financial issues. I would not like to have to sell my belongings in order to come up with this money (nor do I think I have enough time to reasonably do so). Neither of us qualify for loans at this time.
If we are able to get enough to absolve our financial dues then we will be able to move forward and when our future employment prospects work out we'll be totally in the clear.
All help is greatly appreciated. I am not one to ever ask for financial help but anything and everything would help quite a bit.
We also have three cats, Booger, Silver and Little Dude and I'd like to be able to feed them.
