A Single Parent in Great Need

Life can turn upside down in an instant—and right now, a friend and former colleague of mine is facing one of those moments. This person is a single parent, who has worked in the radio industry for decades. Like so many in this field, they were impacted by a Reduction in Force (RIF), awhile back, and despite their best efforts, they haven’t been able to replace the income. Out of respect for their privacy, I’m not sharing their name—but I can tell you they are someone who has always shown up for others, and could surely use someone to show up for them.

This person has been doing everything they can to stay afloat—taking freelance work, applying for jobs, cutting costs—but it’s not enough. They’re now facing a heartbreaking reality: They've had to put basic bills on credit cards, which are maxed out, and they’re falling short on rent, utilities, and even groceries. You may have heard that many of us are just a few paychecks away from homelessness. This isn’t a cliché—it’s their reality. The funds we raise will help cover basic needs:
