Scott & Amy Mann - Stroke Recovery

Donation protected

Hello! Please help support Amy & Family as Scott recovers from a stroke.

This morning, November 19th, 2015, Scott seemed confused and disoriented, unable to answer simple questions and feeling weakness in his side. Amy quickly realized this was an emergency and got him to the hospital in an ambulance where they confirmed he was having a stroke.

His left carotid was blocked, and he is in surgery at St. Anthony's to intervene.

Regardless of how well this surgery goes, stroke recovery is a long and difficult process. Scott and Amy have 8 year old Morgan and 10-month-old Logan at home (and Logan was due to have surgery today which can be postponed, but will still need to happen soon). Amy is not one to ask for help, but with some arm-twisting she let me do the asking for her. They live up in BlackHawk, and organizing meals would be difficult even for locals, and their friends and family are spread throughout the country. I set up this GoFundMe as an easy and centralized place to gather help.

All funds collected will go directly to Amy & Scott to help offset the cost of extra care for the kids so Amy can be at the hospital during this acute care time, making up the shortfall in Scott's lost income during his recovery (because he's the main earner in the household right now, and those adorable kiddos need to eat and have shelter, and Amy needs to focus on her family rather than hustling to make up a financial shortfall).

Any amount you can offer would be so helpful. If you're one of the wonderful mamas in our community who would hop onto a meal train and make something lovely to feed them, consider donating the cost of a meal (and bonus - you don't have to drive up the mountain to deliver it, because you KNOW your day would be the day there's a huge snow or wind or crazy mountain weather, right?).

If you're someone who found support and love at The Giggling Green Bean during difficult times in your parenting journey, consider giving to help Amy in hers.

If Amy's straight-talk and advice has helped your store during her work as a retail consultant, or if she's been a friend to you when you needed one, please be a friend to her now. She really, really needs us. Morgan needs us. Logan needs us. Scott needs us - imagine how much easier recovery will be without the anxiety over his family being provided for.

Thank you so much.
