Originally, when acceptance letters came out, I was informed that I was placed on an "informal" wait-list. I was overjoyed at the information-- they didn't straight-up reject me!
And then, three days before the first deposit was due, I was informed that I had magically been lifted from the waiting list and was offered a spot as a general contributor in poetry!
The only problem, all the financial aid and scholarship had already distributed. I weighed the chances of not going, and reapplying the following year, but there is no guarantee that just because I made the cut this year, that I would get accepted the following.
As a result, I have decided to reach out and pool my resources. We have very limited funds ourselves for the day to day, let alone for something so extravagant as this amazing opportunity-- but together I am sure that this can and will happen.
I have estimated the whole trip will cost about $3500. This includes: transportation to and from Vermont, the deposit, tuition, room and board, and food while traveling.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. No worries if you can't contribute; I appreciate all the positive thoughts and energy!!

Bread Loaf Writers' Conference
"For the past 88 years, the workshops, lectures, and classes, held in the shadow of the Green Mountains, have introduced generations of participants to rigorous practical and theoretical approaches to the craft of writing, and given America itself proven models of literary instruction. Bread Loaf is not a retreat"”not a place to work in solitude. Instead it provides a stimulating community of diverse voices in which we test our own assumptions regarding literature and seek advice about our progress as writers." ---Bread Loaf website
