In the beginning of December, after dealing with some severe shoulder and back pain, along with difficulty breathing, Ryan went to the emergency room and was later diagnosed with Stage 2B Non Small Cell Lung Cancer: Adenocarcinoma.
The tumor is attached to the upper lobe of the right lung, as well as the wind pipe (which is why he's losing the ability to speak). It also hits on a cluster of nerves causing Ryan a great deal of pain in his shoulder, chest, and back. He currently goes to radiation therapy and chemo therapy every day Monday through Friday and is scheduled to do so for the next 6-7 weeks. Ryan had always been a hard worker and a fighter and has been trying to continue to work bartending and managing at Arnolds and Kings Pub although the treatments have been taking a toll on him and he's had to reluctantly reduce his work schedule.
Ryan also endured the loss of his mother to kidney failure in March, 2016. This year has not been kind to Ryan but amazingly he still puts on a smile and most importantly goes out of his way to make others do the same. He's always found ways to cheer people up and lighten everyone's moods even if deep down he needed cheering up himself.
With all of these efforts comes a financial burden that no family should have to worry about while desperately trying to save the life of a loved one. With multitudes of doctors appointments, treatments, and copays mixed with normal living expenses and now a lack of income due to the inability to work we need your help. Please help Ryan continue his fight! Any little bit helps!
