Please help Jesse and his family
My name is Leah and I’m starting this fund for my dear friend Jesse and his sweet little family. Jesse has been struggling with some major health complications since 2017, and has recently become financially devastated due to this, and COVID-19.
In 2017, Mickala (Jesse’s partner, and mother of his two children) came home to find Jesse incoherent and running a fever of 104. He was rushed to the hospital, and misdiagnosed several times since then, until they finally discovered the first abscess. Last month(May 2020), Jesse returned to the hospital for another emergency surgery, where it was discovered that the abscesses had moved to his small intestines and colon. That surgery required muscles and tendons to be severed that have rendered him disabled, requiring him to use a cane to walk and restricting a 25 pound lifting limit. This means a lot of physical therapy is required in the future for him to recover.
Many of these complications are due to Jesse’s rough history before he moved out to Colorado, which he surly isn’t proud of. This is why I’m starting this fund for him. I’ve personally seen how much he’s turned his life around, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. 100% of donations will go to Jesse’s family to pay for his medical bills, and to keep a roof over their head and food in their bellies.
Changing his life for the better was not an easy task for Jesse. In 2015, he moved to Colorado with just one suitcase and without a chance to say goodbye to any of his loved ones. He lived on a farm for a year, caring for 10 horses, while he was detoxing.
Somewhere along the way, he met Mickala, who has been an amazing influence and support system for him. They have two beautiful little boys, Gavin and Liam. Liam was just born on February 6th of 2020.
In 2018 Jesse started working in construction. Learning the skills of the trade and spending countless amounts of time and money on equipment, a truck, and certifications. In March of 2020, he officially got his LLC for Fischer Remodeling and Renovations. As he was shopping for his company insurance, COVID-19 struck America and lock downs began. Mickala had just taken 2 months off of work for maternity leave, which meant money was already tight at that point. She’s been having to take additional time off to care for their children, since Jesse’s health issues resurfaced and his mobility is limited. To say that the timing of everything is unfortunate, is truly an understatement. With the transition of Jesse’s business becoming an LLC and the time taken off from work when Liam was born, they have not been able to get much financial assistance during the COVID-19 crisis.
Their oldest son, Gavin, is the godson of my boyfriend, Matt. He is truly a bundle of joy in the world, and though we haven’t had the chance to meet Liam yet, I can only imagine the same goes for him. Matt and I went to visit them back in November of 2019, where I was able to see first hand that Jesse has truly turned his life around. I knew Jesse for many years before he moved away, and throughout his recovery and successes, him and his family have taken an important roll in my life. Jesse, his family, Matt, and myself, will be forever grateful for all the donations and support received. Jesse has worked far too hard to change his life for the better, and truly deserves help. Any little bit helps! You can also help spread the word by sharing a link to this fundraiser.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!
